The Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) said it was investigating the attack that killed the 62-year-old Haniyeh while he was in Tehran to attend the July 30 inauguration ceremony for Iran's new president, Masud Pezeshkian.
It did not give any details on the how the attack was carried out.We consider his revenge as our duty,” Khamenei said in a statement on his official website, saying Haniyeh was “a dear guest in our home.”
He also posted on X (formerly Twitter), blaming “the criminal, terrorist Zionist regime” for the strike.
