
King highlights ‘special ingredient’ to UK-US relationship
The King expresses “the highest regard and friendship” between the British and the people of the US in his speech.

The King will offer “the highest regard and friendship of the British people” to the United States on Tuesday as he becomes the second monarch in history to address a joint meeting of Congress.
While the UK and the US have not always agreed on everything, shared traditions mean “time and time again, our two countries have always found ways to come together”, the monarch is set to tell both houses of US Congress on the 250th anniversary of American independence.
In a nod to recent tensions over the US war in Iran, King Charles will reflect on the foundations of “democratic, legal and social traditions” and point out how the two nations have stood together throughout history.
